iREVeRANT is written by Rev. Mike Baughman–a United Methodist pastor. While his views do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the UMC or his current congregation, they are certainly influenced by Wesleyan understanding, his love of the church and strong desire to be a part of reforming it.
A New Jersey native, Mike currently serves in Texas which is where God called him by inspiring Mike to fall in love with a Texan. That Texas is also a Methodist minister. Together they have four children. You can learn more about Mike, his speaking schedule, writing and social media consulting at http://www.mikebaughman.com (yes, he feels really, really awkward having .com attached to his name).

With incredible gratitude for your honest and powerful words, I am using your liturgy in Middle River (Baltimore County) MD tomorrow – it is very powerful! I did change the summary after the listing of cities to match local realities and the “Dallas” paragraph to be “Washington DC” where a winter shelter guest was stabbed to death last night on the doorstep of the church that has hosted him. Since everything printed is already printed, it will be hard to credit you but I will be sure to do so in next week’s printed materials. Again, thanks. BTW – my cousins live in Carrollton, and I’m a native Texan, married to a Baltimore native. Sending blessings and prayers. Cindy Horn Burkert, Chase UMC
